Ask God’s Opinion First
Whenever you are faced with any situation whether good or bad, first take it to God in prayer and then meditate on the scriptures for direction. Do not force your will on God or choose what you think is right without asking God first to know His word/will concerning that issue. The bible says, “that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life” (Deuteronomy 30:19KJV). Also it says, “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.” (Proverbs 4:20-21KJV). Ask God to open your eyes to see the scriptures that will minister life to you.
Get The Word
The word of God is very important to the life of a believer. It helps you know the mind of God concerning a matter. Getting the word is the first step. Meditating on it is the next step as God works through His covenant which can only be found in the scriptures. The bible says,
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (James 4:3KJV). When you look at the word thoroughly through meditation, great things are imparted from God into your life. When you follow the direction God has given to you, it automatically leads you to the blessing that is found in that situation.
Use God’s Blessings Correctly
For every blessing God brings to man, there is a clause to it. God expects that when you are blessed by Him, you do not use that blessing anyhow. There are things you should do with it and there are things you must not do because God’s blessing is based on a promise in order to keep the covenant in the blessing. When you continue to meditate on the blessing from scripture, you will see the purpose of the blessing in it as well and know what to do with it. Paul said, “But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully;” (2 Corinthians 4:2KJV). This means you can have Gods word, preach and understand it well but handle it deceitfully.
Let That Blessing Manifest
Allow the blessing you’ve gotten manifest by the anointing. It is the spirit of God inside us that fulfills the word of God in our lives, not your effort. The bible says, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6KJV). For some people, after God shows them the word and what He intends to do in their life; rather than rely totally on God for the manifestation they try to use the arm of flesh to make things happen. Galatians 3:3KJV says “having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?” Therefore, when you commit things to God allow Him take total control because that is the only way you can get the full potential of that blessing when it manifests. Shut the door, pray, read and meditate on God’s word. Listen to messages, read books that speak about that issue and continue to meditate on scriptures until it is made real to you – that is the will of God; He wants you to stay with His word!
