God is expecting your praise. It doesn't matter who you are. He demands your praise. This is what the angels and the twenty four (24) elders are doing in heaven. God wants your praise to be voluntary and willing, from your heart. Though He's demanding it, He wants it to be willing. God would not force you to give it to Him. He wants you to place value on your praise to Him. Such praise that would satisfy Him and move Him on His throne. God singles out our praise by the virtue and value you put into it.
In the story of the lepers in Luke 17:11-21, the praise given for the miracle Jesus had came from only one man, out of the ten that were healed. God had blessed these ten (10) lepers and was expecting praise from them. He left them to make their decision, hence he didn't force them or coerced them. That sole man got even more from God. If you're coerced or forced to praise God, you've already beaten down the value.
"Ascribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty, Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty and majesty of His holiness [as the creator and source of holiness]." - Psalm 29:1-2 (AMP)
God doesn't need just any praise. Some praises can become an abomination to him. There's a glory that is due unto Him. This means that it is very possible to give God glory not due to Him. It is therefore important that you add value to your praise. How do you do this?
Appreciate God for things you cannot see, feel or explain. It is normal and easy to give thanks and praise about things you can see, feel and can explain. Therefore when you praise God for those things you don't perceive physically, especially when things don't look like what you expect or want, you're placing value on your praise. Get into the realm of the spirit and praise God from that realm.
Remember to thank God for past victories. The human nature is to remember the negatives: what God has not done and bad things that have happened. Compared to the positives from the past, the negatives always seem to overwhelm your mind such that you hardly remember to praise God regarding the positives. Remembering to thank God for past victories despite the negatives you're passing through, puts value on your praise. If you feel you may forget, set reminders about such victories and take time to praise God regularly.
Appreciate Him for little blessings. No matter what you're expecting, and you get a miniscule tiny fraction of that blessing, appreciate Him! The God that brought that little blessing is more than capable of bringing all you need and much more.
Express your praise with zeal. Raise your hands, dance, jump, sing, shout, give your substance! Be like David! Be expressive! Make sure you're connecting with God. Express your all to God. Paul and Silas expressed themselves before God even in the prison. They had that understanding that they were suffering for the gospel's sake.
What are you going through? What have you gone through? Your praise despite these things would annoy the devil and flood your heart with joy and great peace. Add value to your praise as you express your heart to God. May your heart be stirred up to give qualitative praise in Jesus name, Amen!
Have a great week!
