2 Corinthians 4:7 AMPC
The gift of life that you have within you is a treasure. Do you realize it? Do you understand it? Do you treasure it? If you do, your entire approach to life and living would change. Your life would be so different that people around you would see God in you.
The gift of life is not meant for you only. It is meant for you to show others and help them key into receiving it as well. You are simply a vessel, a container; and as a container, you don't "own" the content. You are carrying that content to be used for something. Sadly, most people pride themselves as being the container/vessel and don't realize how frail or fickle they are. It is that pride that leads many to think that they are made in themselves. The pride also deceives them into thinking that they are the treasure. In case you thought that way, think again! You are just the vessel God invested in.
If you still think that you take priority in these things, you need to have a change of mind and give God His place. Let people know that those God characters in you are not a reflection of you as the vessel, but of that hidden treasure God deposited in you. You need to introduce people to the God who made that possible, and not draw them to yourself.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also [utensils] of wood and earthenware, and some for honorable and noble [use] and some for menial and ignoble [use].
21 So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work.
2 Timothy 2:20-21 AMPC
As you can see, God deliberately made you His vessel to be used as He deems fit and for His glory. In whatever way you see yourself as a vessel, you are of great use and importance to Him. Your duty therefore is to ensure your vessel/container is clean enough to be used for God's good work. You cannot carry God's precious gift in a vessel that is dirty or dishonorable. You need to set yourself apart from things that can corrupt you and affect how you reflect Christ. How would you do that?
22 Shun youthful lusts and flee from them, and aim at and pursue righteousness (all that is virtuous and good, right living, conformity to the will of God in thought, word, and deed); [and aim at and pursue] faith, love, [and] peace (harmony and concord with others) in fellowship with all [Christians], who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 But refuse (shut your mind against, have nothing to do with) trifling (ill-informed, unedifying, stupid) controversies over ignorant questionings, for you know that they foster strife and breed quarrels.
2 Timothy 2:22-23 AMPC
The above verses are clear cut instructions on what to do. Take time to read and meditate on them. Make them a constant prayer and walk in that line. As you do so, the treasure you carry would be made more and more evident for all to see. The power and exceeding grandeur of that treasure would so much shine that people would desire to be partakers of this gift which is why God deposited them in you in the first instance. As you live your life this way, you show yourself as true kingdom ambassadors. Therefore, take care of that vessel so that the treasure within can shine brightly.
Have a blessed week!
