The Lord is my light and my salvation--
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the refuge and fortress of my life--
Whom shall I dread?
Psalms 27:1(AMP)
You need to understand that as a believer, God is all encompassing. He is your light - the one who opens your eyes to issues; He is your salvation - the one who saves you from destruction; He is your refuge - the one you run to in times of trouble; and He is your fortress - the one who keeps you safe despite the chaos and storm. Why then do you need to fear? Why are you afraid of things that your God, the Lord of Hosts, is bigger, higher and greater than?
16 For by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, [things] visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [that is, by His activity] and for Him.
17 And He Himself existed and is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. [His is the controlling, cohesive force of the universe.]
Colossians 1:16-17(AMP)
God is the author, creation and beginning of all things that exist. He not only rules over holy things and beings, He is the head of all principalities, dominions and powers. Let this understanding sink into you. Think on these things and meditate over them. It is by His word that all things consist. It is by His word that the whole universe is held together. Does that mean you won't get afraid once in a while, no! Instead, when it happens, you redirect that fear before God.
3 When I am afraid, I will put my trust and faith in You.
4 In God, whose word I praise; In God I have put my trust; I shall not fear. What can mere man do to me?
Psalm 56:3-4(AMP)
What are those things threatening your peace? What are those things lifting up their heads against God and His promises over your life? Rather than give them the upper hand by giving in to fear and becoming depressed, take charge of your life today and speak to that situation! Take a look at God's word and tell your mind to align to what is written.
6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.
7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].
8 Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].
Philippians 4:6-8(AMP)
Do NOT give in to fear! God has provided His peace within the storms you are facing. All you need to do is believe in His word, trust Him and obey His instructions. From now on, focus your mind only on God's goodness, things that are true and the other attributes in the verses above. By the grace of God, that which is threatening your peace would be resolved in Jesus name, amen!
Have a blessed week!
