Psalms 8:5-6 NKJV
Would you not prefer to rule over your life's circumstances instead of having them rule over you? Would you not prefer to rule over your finances instead of having them rule over your life, dictating what you can and cannot afford? Would you not prefer to rule over your body (and any sickness) instead of having your body tell you what your day is going to be like, how you are going to feel, and whether or not you are strong enough to do what you want to do?
The anchor scripture today implicitly responds in affirmation to these questions. Upon your salvation, God has made you His child which means that you belong to the family of God. He has made you have dominion over the works of His hands.
Did you notice that in that scripture, God did not say He was going to make us kings unto Him (at some time in future), or that He was going to give us dominion?
"You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,"
He has already made us kings. He has already given us dominion. Hallelujah! That is your status in God's family and you must act as such! Remember that God spoke in this exact manner about Abraham before he even had a child. In Romans 4: 16-18, God said:
"I have made thee a father of many nations nations."
That was God's reality for Abraham; his own reality at the time was childlessness. As a proof of his faith, he began to to see himself as Abraham (Father of many nations) despite the fact that there was no physical evidence that he had got a child, much less many children, or that he would ever have a child. He used his faith to bridge his personal reality, which was childlessness, with God's reality for him, which was being a father of many nations.
Since God has given you dominion over all the works of His hands, and since He has made you a king, get up from your present personal reality and key into God's reality for you, and begin to live as a king. Let your mentality change unto the full realisation of who you are and what you carry. Let your orientation change too. Have a better orientation about yourself, live as the king you really are. Step into God's purpose and design for your life. Eschew every form of physical and spiritual mediocrity. Transform every ignorance into an in depth understanding of God's purpose for your life and act as such. Exercise your dominion!
Shalom!
