As humans we often have lots of questions to ask. We also, sometimes, have our own idea of how things should be, how that man should address you, how that woman should respect you, how that pastor should recognise your service. Some of us even go as far as having our own idea of how God should run things.
This type of belief or principle, over the years, has never led (and will never lead) to a good relationship with God nor with man.
Let peace be your umpire In your relationship with God
Here is the truth: No matter how wise and effective you think you are, you cannot be better than God. No matter how much you disagree with God’s idea of holy and righteous living, HIS standards remain the same. You cannot win any batle against God, but with God you can win your batles. You need to be at peace with God. You may not understand some things, as HE leads, but for the sake of peace between you and HIM, just surrender your will. Even Jesus said to The Father: “...take this cup away from me, never-the-less (for the sake of peace between us) not MY will, but YOUR will be done.”
You are born again because peace has been restored between you and God. The moment you start to attack the umpire peace, you begin to backslide.
Let peace be your umpire in your relationship with your spiritual leaders.
You may not always agree to some or even all the decisions made by your spiritual leaders but as long as they are bible based, spirit-led, holy decisions then submit your will for the sake of peace and “humble yourself under God’s mighty hands so that HE can exalt you in due season. Attacking umpire peace in your relationship with your spiritual leader is the same as attacking your spiritual covering. Beware!
Let peace be your umpire in every other relationship.
When you are at peace with God and with your spiritual leaders, umpire peace knows how to make your enemies be at peace with you. This is why the bible says “when a man’s way pleases (is at peace with) God, HE’ll make even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
Will your words promote peace with your friend? Will your actions speak peace to this nation? Are your offerings peace offerings? Is your service to God a sacrifice of peace?
Let peace be the judge of your every situation, relationship, question, action, decision and lifestyle.
Note: The gospel we preach is the gospel of peace, our saviour is the Prince of peace and we have been called to a life of peace. Nothing can be compared with an encounter with the Prince of Peace: Jesus Christ our Lord.
Peace be unto you
