Train Your Tongue Let it know when to and when not to speak. Control what it says and how it says it. "Train up your tongue in the way it should go and as it grows it wont depart from it."
Wash Your Tongue You’ve learnt for a while now that it is hygienic to wash your mouth at least once a day. You therefore need to apply this lesson spiritually as well. Wash your tongue with the blood of the Lamb and with the Word of God. Constantly cleanse your tongue from all dirt and germs (sin) of wrong words.
Love Your Tongue As long as you love it, you "will eat the fruit thereof". Love it enough to speak the right words. Love it enough to tame it rightly. Remember that you would reap whatever you do with your tongue. Therefore, cherish your tongue.
Use Your Tongue The efficacy of your tongue can only be known if you use it. You can never know how powerful your tongue is until you speak life to a dead cell. Let words come forth out of your mouth. Speak your way through that situation. Let the Word of God be in your mouth continually.
Sanctify Your Tongue Do not speak guile. Guile means deceit, lies and cunning words. Refrain from using it for other uses. Rather, use it for pure and righteous works. Don't gossip, don't backbite, do not speak evil nor lie against others or yourself. Make your tongue a vessel unto honour. Separate it for the Master’s use.
Empower Your Tongue Feed it more with the Word of God. If your tongue speaks God’s word more then it speaks any other word, there would be more power. The combination of the infallible power of God’s word and that of your tongue produces the establishment of God’s will. "Your tongue may be small but it is mighty enough to make or mar you – Tame it!"
