Jesus is your saviour. Take a minute to pause and think about it. The above verse clearly states the purpose Jesus came to earth for. Jesus lived, died and resurrected in order to fulfill this prophecy. If you are yet to fully comprehend what this means, please read through carefully.
For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” - Luke 19:10(AMP)
A saviour is someone who saves others from danger or impending doom. This means that when you say Jesus is your saviour, He has saved you and is saving you from certain dangers. The saving power of Jesus encompasses all things. Like you have read earlier, Jesus came to save mankind from their sins. Sin has always been the problem of man since the fall. God hates sin. He is too holy to even behold iniquity. He cannot tolerate even the tinniest spec of sin. This means any being that has sin in him/her cannot even have a relationship with God talk less of living with Him in the afterlife. Scriptures say that the prayers and sacrifices of a sinner is an abomination before Him (Proverbs 15:8; 21:27). No matter how much you try to patronize God, if sin is found in you, God is not moved except it involves repentance. Therefore, because God cannot change who He is and because of His great love for mankind, Jesus was sent remove this great impediment in your life.
I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. - John 10:10(AMP)
Jesus did not only stop here, He went ahead and ensured that after dealing with sin, He filled you with life: His kind of life i.e. the God-life. He did this so that you can have the power to live above sin. The truth is that as long as you are in this world, sin is a major contender of your faith in Jesus. But once you are in Christ and you have come to a realization of the saving power in Jesus, sin would not be a problem for you.
12 Therefore let the one who thinks he stands firm [immune to temptation, being overconfident and self-righteous], take care that he does not fall [into sin and condemnation].
13 No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]. - 1 Corinthians 10:12-13(AMP)
Whenever you are tempted to sin, remember that you are above sin because Jesus won the victory over sin. Remember that you are in Him. Remember that you have been empowered to live above sin. You would be making the power of Christ of no effect if you do not enforce that victory when faced with the temptation to sin. Jesus is able to save you from whatever it is you are going through.
25 Therefore He is able also to save forever (completely, perfectly, for eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede and intervene on their behalf [with God].
This is God's promise to you. Believe it! Confess it! Live it! Do not live in the fear of hell, death or separation from God. If you are sure that you are in Christ, that should banish all doubt or unbelief. Meditate on the following verses and trust in Jesus.
23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through [that is, separate you from profane and vulgar things, make you pure and whole and undamaged—consecrated to Him—set apart for His purpose]; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept complete and [be found] blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful and absolutely trustworthy is He who is calling you [to Himself for your salvation], and He will do it [He will fulfill His call by making you holy, guarding you, watching over you, and protecting you as His own]. - 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24(AMP)
You have Jesus; He has saved you, is saving you and would save you. Focus on Him and on Him alone.
24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling or falling into sin, and to present you unblemished [blameless and faultless] in the presence of His glory with triumphant joy and unspeakable delight,
25 to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and power, before all time and now and forever. Amen. - Jude 1:24-25(AMP)
Have a blessed week!
