John 10:10 ESV
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it ABUNDANTLY “
Each time I read this verse, I just can’t stop but marvel at God’s great thought of abundance. I mean, it’s good enough that we have life all because we believe, but to have it in abundance definitely tells me that God is not ready to give us anything without abundance. If He decides to give it then He is giving it in abundance, in excess overflow. He is the God of abundance.
Mark6:42-43 ESV
“And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and of the fish.”
This is the miracle of the 5000 men (not counting women and children) fed with just five loaves of bread and two fishes. God knew the number of people there at the time and He knew the exact quantity of food that everyone of them can eat per time. I mean, He is God, creator of every living thing. He knows the end from the beginning and therefore knows when to stop supply of the food. Yet, He allowed the supply to continue till excess. Again proving that He is the God of abundance.
Malachi3:10 NIV
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”
This verse suggests to me that God wants us to test His power And integrity as the God of abundance. God does not “make mouth”, when He says something then He means it. He will never fail.
Psalm23:5b NLT
“You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.”
Again this is another definition of abundance. The psalmist experienced an overflow of blessings that his cup couldn’t contain. If I need a litre of oil and I come to you with a one-litre bottle, as long as the bottle is not full then you keep pouring but stop immediately it gets to the brim. But God says “I will keep pouring until you’ve got an overflow of blessings. I Am the God of Abundance!”
Even grace is in abundance. Tap into it and walk in abundance this week and always.
