JOHN 14:12 AMP
These are Jesus words to you. It is expected of you to not just do what Jesus did, but to surpass them. You are supposed to be a living, breathing, walking, talking, moving testimony and witness of Jesus. If Jesus spent just three and a half years doing great works, imagine how much more you are to achieve as a believer who has a much longer time frame.
And I will do whatever you ask in My name [ as My representative], this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified and celebrated in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name [as My representative], I will do it.
JOHN 14:13-14 AMP
The essence of being a Christian who is alive here on earth is to point others to Christ. If not, you could have as well died the moment you gave your life to Him. That way, you don't need to anything. But, you received the God-life so that you can be an instrument to introduce and give life to others. This is why He continued by saying that anything you ask in God's name, you are to receive it. That sick individual, your failing friend, your drug addicted cousin, that alcoholic neighbor, your corrupt boss and so on must feel your impact as God's representative and ambassador. When you open your mouth to talk, it must be backed with power and must yield results.
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with great power; and He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with Him.
ACTS 10:38 AMP
Jesus never came in contact with anyone who had a problem and left them the same way. Never! Therefore, you should not meet people with their problems and leave them the same way. Introduce them to Christ and use the power within you to bring a change. The same way Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power is exactly how you have the Holy Spirit backed with power. This means it is expected that you go about and do good. You have the power and authority to heal ALL the people you come in contact with who are sick and oppressed by demons. Just go forth and do what you have been empowered to do.
As you celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus, embrace the very essence and purpose for Jesus doing this. Be the light you have been called to be. Shine through every darkness around you and stop hiding. You have the fullness of the Spirit of God. You have the full power to do greater things than Jesus did.
Have a blessed week!
