Nehemiah, an Israelite in captivity, and also the king's cup-bearer, was a man who was really pained, troubled and saddened by this loss. He knew and understood that the phase they were in as a country was just for a while. Yes, he wept and mourned their loss, but he didn't stay down for long. He got up and did something positive about their situation. You know what he did? He prayed, and through his prayers, he received strength in the storm. The strength he received was what gave him the boldness to request that the Israelites in captivity return to rebuild their home country. That strength was more than enough to help the Israelites rebuild the walls and their city. Despite the negative vibes, threats and opposition they faced, that strength kept them going such that they rebuilt the walls in record time!
What are you currently going through? Have you become so discouraged that you've lost the strength and zeal to go on? You need to stop worrying and focus on God. Stop focusing on your weakness. It is high time you received strength from God Himself. How would you do this? Firstly, take your fears, pains and sorrows to God in prayer. Secondly, and very importantly, read and meditate on God's word.
9 Then Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, “This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep.” For all the people were weeping when they heard the words of the Law.
10 Then Ezra said to them, “Go [your way], eat the rich festival food, drink the sweet drink, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be worried, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and your stronghold.” - Nehemiah 8:9-10(AMP)
When God's word mixes with faith in your heart, it produces joy and peace that passes all earthly understanding. It is that joy that would produce strength in you. This is a kind of strength that can pull you through any storm. You receive strength in the place of communication and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. You receive strength by praying in the spirit, both in tongues and in your understanding. You receive strength by being still and shutting down the noise around you. You receive strength by staying focused on the right things. Receive strength and soar high in the storm.
16 May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality], - Ephesians 3:16(AMP)
Have a blessed week!
