"God doesn't store up requests, HIS hobby is answering them." | There are promises, prophecies and God-given ideas that are yet to come to pass. Unfortunately, WAITING (especially in this generation) is one thing many find very difficult to do. God commands us to wait (Psalm 27:14, Habakkuk 2:3). He has not and will not change. God is not faster or slower than He was, even before Adam. So while we rush to run things by ourselves, God cannot and will not be rushed. There will always be a waiting period. What do we then do while we wait? Don’t Stop Praying (1 Thessalonians 5:17) Continuous prayer does not mean lack of faith neither does it mean God is deaf. It actually shows our surrender to God's unfailing capacity to do what we ask and more. Prayer isn’t complete without receiving. God answered Daniel from the first day; receiving it was the delay. This shows that many things do happen behind the scene when everything looks bleak. This shouldn’t stop or discourage you. Daniel didn’t stop praying till he got his answer. This was seen as victory over evil, not lack of faith. Keep praying. Rehearse Your Testimony (Revelations 12:11) See yourself handling answers to those prayers. Recognize that God is in control. When you do this, you are telling the devil that he has lost the battle. No more worries and anxieties. Peace and an assurance of victory would pervade our heart. Once you see and believe it, you will definitely have it. Keep Praising God When praises go up, blessings come down. Praise scatters the enemy’s camp by causing chaos and confusion. Praise moves God to action. He dwells and delights in your praises. No matter who/what/where you are; no matter your case or your feelings, you MUST praise God. Praise makes what you go through easier to bear. Your heart and soul becomes constantly filled with joy and peace in the Holy Spirit. Get The Word The written word of God is God’s stamp on any promise or prophecy. As long as you can find it written, God is bound to fulfil it. It is settled. Take time to dig into the word and search the scriptures. God's word is God's integrity. Build your faith (your strength) with the word and faith your way through your waiting period (Proverbs 24:10). Stay Clean Righteousness exalts a nation – Proverbs 13:34. Since the devil knows your victory is sure, he would try to find faults against you to pull you down. God (in His love) ensured you can be righteous and live righteously when He sent His only son to shed His blood for the remission of our sins. This is only possible when you SURRENDER your life to the lordship of Jesus Christ and let Him take the wheels. Cleanse yourself regularly by the washing of water by the Word (Ephesians 5:26). Confess your faults and make sure you are always in right standing with God. God will be glad to hear you ask for anything. Just stay clean. |

Improvement is something many believers don’t take seriously. Improvement is what makes a man never become obsolete. We often are lazy in this area and justify this by saying: ‘we are not of this world’. We believe so strongly that since heaven is our home, why bother improving ourselves here on earth. We think that as long as we’re not sinning, we’re okay. This is a wrong mind set! In fact, it is not of God. God did not create us to be stagnant neither did he purpose that we maintain the status quo. God created us as light to deliberately make a difference in the world we live in. It is therefore important you improve yourself. This helps you remain earthly relevant and not obsolete.
Expose Yourself To God God knows you more than you know yourself. As you take time out to study the word, be sensitive enough to see yourself through God’s eyes. This way, you would know exactly where you are per time (2 Corinthians 3:18). In fact, you would clearly see areas in your life that need change and improvement such as your marriage, business, career, and so on. Develop A Plan Once you recognize areas in your life that need improvement, develop a plan to deal with them. Get a personal diary to write out all the areas that need change and/or improvement. Itemize these things and against each one, pencil down the goals you want to achieve and when you want to achieve them. Let this cut across every facet of your life. Your spiritual growth should never undermine improvements in physical areas. In fact, it must facilitate it. Follow Through! Ensure you follow through with your plans. Don’t give excuses, be disciplined. Never see money/lack of money as a hindrance. God has promised to provide all your needs according to His riches in glory. Set your heart to improve yourself, step out in faith and do the things that need to be done. Go and learn that trade, do those certification exams, learn more about your business, think outside the box, improve your spoken English and communication skills, become technologically savvy, make yourself into an asset. Most importantly, don’t entertain fear! You’ve got God on your side and He would definitely see you through. Expect Great Returns God’s word says that as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest will never seize. If you follow through with your plans, expect great returns in your marriage, workplace, business, habits, behaviours, communication and so on. “Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.” – Proverbs 16:3(AMP) Confession – I am a shining light that would never be put out in Jesus name, amen!!!
