Giving up, he packed his things and was preparing to leave the boat with his friends when he heard a voice from behind telling him to try one more time. Jesus the Miracle worker said “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. (John 21:1-6)
For someone reading this I speak into your life that a miracle that will restore hope and mend your broken heart will come your way this season of New Beginnings. You will hear a voice calling you to your miracle.
However, a miracle is not an end but a means to an end. God gives a miracle, a sign or a wonder in order to get your attention and call you into a deeper walk with him. At the word of Jesus, in one catch, Bro Peter, with his team caught 153 fishes from the same river with the same net they’ve been using all night and the net did not break. As “big” as this miracle is, it was just to catch Peter’s attention for a deeper walk with God and a greater responsibility. We know this by what Jesus said to Peter: “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed My Sheep”. John 21:17. That is responsibility. Peter was called into leadership.
Also in verse 19 when Jesus had spoken this, He said unto Peter, “Follow me.” That is a call unto deeper walk with God.
New beginnings have started and miracles are locating you. But remember that they are means to an end. God’s intent is for you to, by these New Beginnings, grow deeper in Him and be open to another level of responsibility.
Peter left the miracle behind him (about 153 fishes) and followed Jesus, going deeper and deeper till the end. Will you do the same?
Every miracle, every sign and wonder is calling you to a deeper walk with God. Moses saw the burning bush but that sign was not for fun, it was a call to a great responsibility ahead (a call to lead over a million of God’s people to the promised land). The mad man in Mark 5:1-20 experienced a miracle of healing so that he can become an evangelist. Paul, David, John, Samson, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Pastor E.A Adeboye, Rev’d Solomon Adebara and many more, all these got their miracles but made sure they got the message/call the miracles brought. For every miracle there is a call to intimacy.
Will you answer?
